
Introduction
The country of Belize was formatted due to the Territorial disputes between
the UK and Guatemala and the independence of Belize was delayed (formerly British
Honduras) until 1981. Guatemala refused to recognize the new nation until 1992.
Tourism has become the mainstay of the economy. The country remains plagued
by high unemployment, growing involvement in the South American drug trade,
and increased urban crime. This country is located in Central America, bordering
the Caribbean Sea, between Guatemala and Mexico.The geographical co-ordinates
of this country is 17 .15 N, 88. 45 W.The geographical area of this country
is around 22,966 sq km.The climate of this country is tropical; very hot and
humid; rainy season (May to November); dry season (February to May).
Business and Economy
The economy of this country hasnt been very good. This is because of the
fact that this is a very small country and there has been absolute derth of
foreign investment in this country.The economic policies of this country also
havent been very promising to attract the foreign investors.Primarily
this country has been depending on the forests for its growth.This fact is there
in the history books that the economy primarily depende on the forests in the
initial phases but as this started decreasing, the country started to depend
on the sugar industry which by this time had taken the place of the forests.This
sugar industry took the place of the logwood and the mahogany industry and the
country was managing depending only on this industry. The soul reason for the
economy not doing good was the lack of foreign investment and the policies of
the country.

The major cities of this country have nopt been able to attract that sizeable
chunk of foreign investment as the policies of this country havent been
investor friendly.This country is not considered to be a developing country
and due to this reason, there is almost zero investment by the foreign investors.
Apart from this, even the tourism industry is not doing well because there are
not many beautiful sights to see in this country.Some of the major cities of
this country are Belmopan,Corozal,Orange walk,Dangriga,Punta Gorda and San Ignacio.
